Handpicked for you...

Weaver’s Nest is the baby sister in the Waterfall Farm family, a two bedroom cottage that sleeps no more than four, this little hideaway is perfect for the young couple looking to escape for a long weekend. The cottage is located on a working orange farm and remains true to old fashioned country style with a sunny breakfast nook, textured and whitewashed walls and a wide shady veranda overlooking the citrus orchards.

The cottage offers just about everything guests could possibly desire, including wicker sofas on the veranda to relax on while a toasty little fire gets going in the Weber for the evening barbecue. There is also a rustic wooden bench on the veranda for al fresco dining. The kitchen in Weaver’s Nest is especially charming with an L-shaped wooden counter and white wicker bar stools, it will take you back to days of sitting in your grandmother’s kitchen sipping hot chocolate, helping her bake pastry.

The farm itself is an explorer’s dream, and with its many rock pools and waterfall it is ideal in summer. Pack a picnic basket loaded with oranges and naartjies picked straight off the tree, and head into the mountains for a day of hiking, picnicking on rocky outcrops and diving into crystal clear pools. For those who prefer to take their holidays a little slower, there is no reason why you can’t curl up on the sofa with a good book, listening to the birds singing, the insects chirping and breathing in the sweet smells of the citrus farm.

We had a fabulous time. The cottage was perfect for our needs. So comfortable. And the view - wow! The girls loved riding in the orchards, picking oranges and lemons, and eating and juicing immediately, and even swam in the freezing cold river. We even had Blue, the local great dane, adopt us, which we loved! We will definitely be visiting Waterfall Farm again, and using Perfect Hideaways. What a find!

Really a perfect hideaway If you stay in this old farm cottage you will not leave again! The cottage is hidden on a large orange plantation. Near the cottage lives Henry with his family and he is there to manage everything. His dogs and cats will say Hello to you too. The weaver birds live in the tree beside the cottage – be aware they are not quite. The best thing of the cottage is the very large porch from where you can look over the surrounding landscape and plantation – do not miss the sunsets! The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need (there is also a garlic crusher and a lemon/orange squeezer, you will rarely find this in other cottages), very well decorated rooms with love for details. The bed was good, the shower was a little unusual but fine. We highly recommended this accommodation. Thanks to the Perfect-Hideaway-team for everything! The service and the cottage was perfect.

We had a very pleasant stay. The house was very well equipped, clean and just what we were looking for. The mountains are magnificent and the waterfall absolutely beautiful - we made some wonderful memories there and took great photos. We spent the cold nights outside playing cards as a family and just catching up with each other in the peaceful surroundings of the orange and lemon trees. I have already recommended your services as well as Weavers Nest to a number of our friends who are all eager to go

The stunning Cedarberg mountains are about as away from it all as you can get within a two hour drive from Cape Town, the lush orange and citrus groves that the town of Citrusdal is named for, skirting dramatic rocky mountains with hidden waterfalls and crystal rock pools. Traces of the Khoisan heritage remain in
